Fair Trade

We keep on trying to develop and chose new products which contribute to design our lives more harmoniously. Further thoughts are not obvious; however have the same weight of importance to us concerning the choice of products and suppliers. Hence, what kinds of organisations are concerned? How are the working conditions during manufacturing? Where is our money finally flowing to?

Therefore we would like to inform you a little bit about these backgrounds:
Great amounts of our incense sticks are produced in an ashram in India. This ashram is situated far away from large cities in the country side. Many women take employment (which is apart from that hard to find) through the production of incense. Because of the earnings the ashram is able to finance a school. Thus hundreds of children from every class receive an education which is normally not possible. Moreover, an ayurvedic health center is supported which is giving free medical care to indigent people from a wide catchment area.

We purchase different products from another ashram which is teaching old Vedic techniques in order to purify our mother earth form pollution. Besides, this knowledge is offered at no charge to farmers in whole India in order achieve a sustainable supply of foodstuffs in total India. Similarly many women in rural areas are supported where otherwise no source of income is available. Continuous „Healing Circles“ for these women are encouraging their solidarity and their spiritual direction.

Our main supplier of jewelry is actually employed at an Indian Bank. His goal has been and still is to get people out of slums and offer them work. Due to this, two manufacturing halls for hand-made jewelry emerged with almost 20 people employed. They were taught techniques of silver treatment and now they can feed their families properly.

Our supplier from Nepal built up his business having the goal to support surrounding Buddhist monasteries. He himself is Buddhist, too. The main monastery is situated on a hill nearby Kathmandu and is a true shelter for many people.

Naturally strict attention is paid concerning the ban on child labour. The children are only allowed to be with their mothers in a playful way. Thus no extra child supervision is needed.

Moreover, it is one of our dearest wishes that our suppliers have a harmonically attitude towards their production and our trade cooperation. We are convinced that this energy again flows into the products.
